The owners purchased this house on a modest lot in Southlands, a quixotic character neighbourhood in a remote corner of Vancouver. The RA-1 zoning is complex – involving approvals by the local residents association, floodplain construction requirements, and a required Board of Variance appeal.

The Project sought to capture the idyllic agricultural character of the neighbourhood through the use of timber and wood shingles, and a simple barn-like volume.
